Work duties

The details of what constitutes a Discipleship Training School (DTS) is beginning to get a little clearer going into day three.  This morning breakfast felt early as I slept little (note to self - never drink caffeine after about 3pm).  We had a few lectures from the base director, Graham Vermooten, which were very enjoyable and motivational.  Then, after lunch, we had work duties.

For me this is ‘IT’ - I’d actually worked myself up to do the toilet cleaning or similar job and I would have been happy to do so - I’m glad some of the skills I have can be put to good use though.  It’s kinda a bit like being back in the office, except my ‘boss’ is called N.K. (for short) and was overjoyed when I corectly answered his Apple Mac question with an affirmation of love.  Quite whether his cheeky “Brother, you are a true Christian” is fair to those Microsoft fans is questionable - but I like his style :-)

And now I face a true hardship - going down to the beach to catch the last of the sun.  There is a tidal pool about a minute or two from the base and some sand about five minutes away.

Sunburn update: no worse than yesterday, feeling a little warm but no pain.
