One of the most difficult things to do here is work out what to write about.  There are countless exciting events, thoughts and emotions going on whilst I sit on this particular life rollercoaster and there is only a few minutes each day to document them for you to read.

So today I’m going to tell you about my morning on Sunday - primarily because there are photos already up and so it makes sense.

We set off at just before 5am in the end and headed off in the almost dark.  It was only a slight glow on the horizon that hinted the sun would be appearing anytime soon - within 10 minutes we reached the path up the mountain and by then there was just about enough light to see ahead of us without a torch.  Alret (6) and Elizna (almost 5) led the way whilst Dominik (7, i think) and myself followed.

There was a slight panic for a while that another hill would obscure the sun and after a brief discussion we pushed on to try and get above that.  Our reward for getting there by 5:45?  A series of beautiful moments - some captured on camera - as a new day dawned.  We sat at the top eating apples and grapes and being pretty quiet as it was too early for proper conversation.

All of us took to taking photos for a while and then at 7:30 or so we headed back down the mountain very pleased that we had forced ourselves out of bed for the occasion.  It was great to see the day dawn with so much beauty and to appreciate the enormity of the mechanics involved and the precision with which we can know when the sun will arrive.  Small, quick events such as the first rays of the sun lead to beautiful hot summer days.

Enjoy your day.
