False bay is currently undergoing a transformation to a murky red colour. Initially I was thinking sewage - eugh. Apparently though it is a micro organism that causes the colouration. In addition they fluoresce under certain conditions - for example if you walk along the beach at night and look behind you, your footprints will glow.
I haven’t seen the phenomena for myself yet. Maybe I’m too scared of luminous pig syndrome.
