I’ve now been in Uganda for a couple of days. It’s hot, the air is acrid, the satellite dishes point straight up, the sun is directly above you at midday and the roads are chaos. Welcome to the real Africa.
I’m loving it so far. We are staying at the YWAM Hopeland base in Jinja, have seen the source of the Nile and done some sports. I’ve also joined some others in the team to go walking in the morning - down to the main road and back. This along with a three legged race and football has pretty much killed me - I ache all over.
I’m pleased to report that there have not been too many mosquito bites yet - although I’m a little bit burnt (a result of the hot sun and the malaria medication I’m on…).
We go to church tomorrow for our first four hour African church experience :-)
