Relaxing with a friend

Graduation is over and so I’ve taken a few days off from Media Village before starting the long hard video production course.

Tom is here for a few days.  On Friday I picked him up from the airport and gave him a tour of my ‘home’.  We went to find the penguins, complete with some crazy people filming them with a stuffed penguin.

Then we went and partied at a friends.  For the last couple of nights we’ve stayed in a hotel in central Cape Town and gone down to Cape Point and seen most of the suburbs around.

Last night we went to an amazing Irish bar - Kilkenny’s - where I indulged in both Guinness and some single malt whiskey.  Shortly after we turned up a jazz band pitched up and started playing and they were seriously good.

This mornings highlight was the early morning sunshine which prompted us to climb lion’s head.  As it turned out it was still cold and gale force windy at 700m and there was a certain amount of clinging to rocks going on as we attempted to take obligatory cheesy photos.

Tonight we are in the wine region - in a town called Franschoek.  It’s very wet and so our next task is to find a bottle of wine to take to the BYO restaurant we will head to later.  Have a good evening yourselves.
