Finding the thief

This week there has been a wave of theft in my life. A few weeks ago I lost my phone and my shiny new and highly useful leatherman wave 2. I have no idea if it was theft or whatever, but I no longer have them. I also lost a bag with winnie the pooh and friends on the side from a Ugandan market.

This week something else has gone missing and this time I’ve tracked down the thief. Sadly it took little detective work to conclude that procrastination is the thief of my time. In particular facebook and Bloxorz have meant I have not yet completed the three briefs for my new project. Or posted more blog entries. Or any of the other seven things on my to-do list. It has been long enough between blog entries for two people to complain. Hence this rather rushed post.

To fill you in…

I have completed my first project - a three minute soft news insert on a local cafe that is also an estate agent. Maybe I’ll post it here in the next day or two. It went quite well and my mark was way higher than I expected, so that’s cool. Today we got put in groups for our next two projects and we are off to a good start. I’m still enjoying it all although my current reading of Rob Bell’s (of NOOMA) Velvet Elvis (weird name) is proving highly challenging. If you are a Christian reading this right now I suggest you go get a copy and read it and then go and wrestle it through with others.

A couple of weeks back we did a one minute project. We had an hour to conceptualise and shoot a one minute piece of video done in one continuous shot. Afterwards we had to redo it using multi-angle in another two hours and edit it. This was the result (it’s somewhat loaded with industry jokes). I’m now know as the success man amongst the students here….

Hmmm… OK - people have told me it doesn’t work - hope to fix it later this week.
