the week starts here

On Saturday I started the day by listening to two programmes of This American Life (go and check out the recent one about the $700bn bailout), dusting and cleaning my room and not going running.  By 2pm I realised just how stunning the day was and I so I got up, packed a book and my notes from Workshop into my bag and headed to Battersea Park to enjoy what was left of the day.  And the day was gorgeous.  Really stunning.  The day was topped off when I took a wrong turn out of the park and inadvertently watched a breathtaking sunset from Chelsea Bridge.

This was a recreation after the event - the weather held out on Sunday

It was then that the evening and night began.  My intentions were to head home, watch a film and sleep - and on the way home I thought I might see if a friend of mine was in.  They were, their house-mate was having a party, I stayed; eventually leaving at gone 4am after much drinking, talking, dancing and laughing.  A great and completely unexpected joy.

On another note I’ve been doing more investigating into turning my house into a giant ball pit.  It’s still too expensive.  I can dream though - I reckon there’s a rental market for adults that don’t want to grow up (just yet).  Some guys in the states have done this.  However it seems a little harder to procure the balls over here (Euro-matic have some which seem to start at £93 per thousand - plus P&P).  nb. Searching the web for “adult playgrounds” is a bad idea.
