One of the most exciting things about any sort of community is the opportunity to learn from others. Before schools, universities, libraries, books and the internet; this was pretty much the only way we could learn anything.
Today we live in a world in which knowledge has become widely available, but a caveat is that the knowledge is only of a certain type. There are some knowledge domains that are more difficult, if not impossible, to learn through any of these modern methods of reading or new media. I guess these things are those things that we know not through our intellect or reasoning, but rather through a difference sense - just knowing. Spiritually maybe. Knowledge that we gain only by being around others or being discipled by another in a certain field.
Having said that I'm going to point you in the direction of a knowledge that you can pick up on the internet. TED is home of lots of very interesting talks by interesting people. Including this one from Seth Godin:
