The latest in a series of articles on the Guardian focuses on a pastor that screened same sex pornography in church in order to build further support for the bill. I spent time with the very same pastor towards the end of my conservative evangelical days…. On the latest Killer’s album (Day and Night) Brandon Flowers asks “are we human or are we dancer[s]“? I really like this - for me is probing what it is to be human, maybe touching on our spirituality, primal desire and recent lust for knowledge. As I’ve commented before about fundamentalism - it doesn’t matter who the fundamentalist is. Whenever an individual or group know beyond reasonable doubt that they are right then they become judgemental and dangerous to the rest of us. This includes - in no particular order - Islamic, Anarchist, Anti-Capitalist, Socialist, Christian and New Atheist viewpoints. [...] For some reason I’m not perfect. Oh wait - that’s it, being perfect is impossible. I like to think that as I get older I am continuing to mature and become more refined. This is, at the very least, true in the way I’m learning to appreciate things more. Let’s talk about those fine things in life - wine, music and chocolate. |
